Autism and ABA
Autism is a developmental disability that typically appears within the first years of life. It is the result of a neurological disorder that effects the functioning of the brain in the areas of reasoning, social interaction and communication skills.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a highly structured one-to-one behavior modification program, where repetition, reinforcement and rewards are used to teach. Tasks are broken down into component steps. Data are collected daily and graphed so that the progress of the child is measurable. |
